Retired Camden Hospital Worker, 76, Killed In Crash: Police

A Camden woman was killed when she was hit by a vehicle in Woodlynne, authorities said.

Paulette Lee, 76, died on Thursday, Sept. 26, a Camden County Police Department spokesperson said. Officers responded to the crash involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Ferry and Parker avenues at around 7:35 p.m.

Paramedics rushed Lee to Cooper University Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The driver stayed at the crash scene and no charges have been filed as of Wednesday, Oct. 2.

According to her obituary from Boyd Funeral Home, Lee was born in Philadelphia on Sunday, Aug. 8, 1948. She worked for many years on the dietary team at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital before she retired.

Lee enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially lunches with her group known as the "golden girls."

"Paulette also enjoyed listening to music, hosting bingo for her neighbors, lending a helping hand to anyone that she knew was in need, and playing the lottery," her obituary read. "Paulette was a sister, loving mother, a loyal friend and confidant, a fun and hip grandmother, as well as, a great-grandmother and newly great-great-grandmother."

A viewing will be held for Lee at St. Vincent de Paul at Sacred Heart on Broadway Avenue from 9 to 11 a.m. A celebration of life will follow until 12:30 p.m.

The crash investigation remained ongoing.
